Artificial İntelligence’s advantages and disadvantages


AI is a kind of machine that can act intelligently like self-driving cars , robots and facial recognition system. Facial recognition is a technology of AI that remembers people by analyzing their faces or fingerprints. Some corporations try a new technology such as facial recognition which is provided by AI. Facial recognition technology  is already used by some countries such as China in order to determine or avoid violent crime . Also, healthcare is crucial for healthcare insurance corporations such as Ping An invest in to the medical applications.  Ping an and a Chinese municipality try to estimate to expand of some kind of epidemic flu with %90 trueness. These applications which were improved by AI provide amenities such as anticipating the disease , helping doctors or examine the good qualification. So, AI has some benefits and risks such as enables efficient healthcare service, good quality of education and facial recognition which can cause violation of privacy and bias to some people respect to their color or appearance.

There are some advantages about using AI in healthcare.  Zaynah Bhanji , (Jan 29) claims that  some possible benefits about using AI in healthcare are helping to determine contagious diseases or genes. Now we may identify disease with using computers thanks to AI. So that in the article  ‘AI as a force for good in MIT technology review ‘ in (Jun 27, 2018)  states that we can find data about patients and treat the patients quickly thanks to AI. We can estimate  drugs which can be useful for humans as well. We can look CT of a lung and we can indicate whether there is a cancer cell or not. Zaynah Bhanji, (Jan 29) says that in the old time doctors had to determine disease by counting to the  patient’s blood. However, now they are diagnosing  diseases with using AI.

 There are some kinds of risks too about using AI in healthcare. For example, in the article ‘AI as a force for good in MIT technology review ‘ in (Jun 27, 2018 ) claims that AI can change some importance of jobs such as jobs requiring medical services and collecting data from the patients may be used wrongly. According to Bianca Nogrady, the machine which collects data from patients can perceive high risk of illnesses as a lower risk. So that this case lead to death. Therefore, using AI in healthcare has some disadvantages such as causing to death of patients or violation of privacy.

Using AI in facial recognition has some amenities like more practical  for our lifes. For instance,  Dylan Curran, Tue (21 May 2019 ) argues that you walk to your job and the camera on the door look your face and opens without using your finger or if your computer unlocks , it can open easily by determine your face and when you look mirror , it can say ‘you should have a moisturizer in your face because the weather will be hot’ . İn addition , some airports use facial recognition to indicate passengers without passport. Therefore, AI for facial recognition is so usefull for in daily lifes such as we may use AI for making life more practical.

 However, there are some potential risks about facial recognition system as well. For instance, Dylan Curran , Tue (21 may 2019) says that facial recognition technology collects large amount of data from people and some dictators may use these data against opposition and the camera which used for facial recognation system can perceive some people’s face wrongly by showing the increase of percentage of danger. Despite your innocence , you may be arrested by Police because of similarity between you and a criminal apperiance . So that, people can act depends on people’s color . For instance, facial recognition system allows to the staffs in the shops  knowing to a person who is criminal or not. So workers can approach this human suspiciously. Therefore, facial recognition system may lead to some difficulties such as people of bias which is a potential risk for humanity.

As a result AI has some probable risks and benefits about facial recognition technology and healtcare system. We can use AI to the diagnose or examine the disease and investigate the some specific genes such as identify the cancer cells. But it can be used wrongly. Furthermore, AI can be used for facial recognation as well such as in computer locks or door locks. But , facial recognition technology can cause violation of privacy and bias of some people.  it has also some benefits such as it can enable some amenities and it is more practical.
